The one thing that can get you through difficult times
Hint hint it's not perserverence or resilience
A beacon shaped like hope
What to do when you're at an impasse
When no matter your attempts to climb over it,
break through it,
or disassemble it,
it remains
When you must stop to rest because fighting it is only killing you
Ripping every last breath from your lungs and peeling your skin from your finger tips
You must pause
Pause like your life depends on it,
because you're not yet willing to trade all you worked for and all you have built
I won't back down, I won't wave a white flag in the air and walk away I will fight
I'll fight smarter, I'll fight safer, I will protect myself and us because I have hope
Hope for a better day, hope for our future, and hope for us
I'm not ready to give up because mama didn't raise no quitter
so I won't start today
